India's Highest Observatory ~ Hanle
The Indian Astronomical observatory ~ Hanle
Located on the top of the mountain hills of Ladakh , at an elevation of 4,500 meters , one of the worlds highest located sites for Optical Infrared , gamma ray telescope . It is operated by Indian Institute Of Astrophysics , Bangalore.
The observatory is like a dream come true for amature Astronomers to work with two active Telescope , a 2.01 meters Optical Infrared , Himalayan Chandra Telescope (HCT) and a High Altitude gamma Ray telescope , under TFIR , Mumbai .
If you love night Sky, star grazing , collecting astronomical data , analyzing data , and want to work at Hanle , then the you should go for a higher education in Astronomy and Astrophysics . For this , you have to have a masters in Physics , or Physics with Astronomy and Astrophysics as Specialization . After that you can join graduate school on Astronomy and Astrophysics , say TIFR , IUCAA , IIA etc , and can be a part of one of the world's highest astronomical observatory , Hanle
